Annzia Howard
Annzia Howard is an on-campus freshman pursuing a degree in Music Performance-sound programming. Annzia became interested in leadership studies because it is a trait she could take anywhere, no matter what she chooses. Annzia enjoys her Discovering Leadership course because of the conversations she gets to have with many students from different walks of life. These conversations allow her to see concepts from many different perspectives other than her own.
Annzia is involved in the Black Student Union and FHSU's Jazzband. Outside school, she enjoys painting, writing songs and poetry, hanging out with friends and family, and learning new skills. Congratulations, Annzia!
Shawna Sheaman
Shawna Sheaman is a virtual senior graduating with her Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership this fall. Shawna is an adult learner, returning to college nearly 30 years after starting her journey at Kansas State University. Her son, who recently graduated from Colorado State University, inspired her to return to school part-time in 2018. In 2020, after facing unemployment caused by the pandemic, Shawna decided to return to school full-time. Shawna has held many leadership roles in the last 30 years. She discovered that she loves leading others, creating lasting relationships, and learning something new daily. What Shawna loved most about her Leadership courses were the Blackboard conversations that provided insight into different corporate cultures' challenges, unique approaches, and exciting outcomes. Shawna also enjoys her leadership professors because of their supportive, encouraging nature and dedication to teaching.
In her community, Shawna has volunteered at Presbyterian St. Luke's oncology floor, Habitat for Humanity- Denver, Missions Ministry, Extreme Community Makeover, and the local grade school as a reading tutor. Shawna's hobbies include trail riding on dirt bikes, gardening, watching movies, cooking, camping, and any time outdoors. Congratulations, Shawna, we are so proud of you!
